Starlink satellite internet services have officially entered Uganda through local telecom providers Roke Telkom and Paratus Uganda.
The development follows a May 15, 2026 agreement between the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) and Starlink, allowing the low-Earth-orbit satellite service to operate in the country.
The service is expected to improve internet access in remote and underserved areas, with Paratus Uganda targeting businesses and institutions in sectors including mining, healthcare, tourism, NGOs and government.
The company says Starlink will also provide backup connectivity for existing customers, improving network reliability.
